Woah. Great release but mostly impressed by some peoples deep deep pockets. Wish I could do that

I have to say the hype on this record has introduced me to Junk Yard Connections. Lots of top stuff on this label from what I've heard so far. Since it is a limited no repress label, It's too bad I missed out on this one, but it is what it is. At least now I know to hunt their newest releases when it becomes available. :)

in this oversaturated age there ought to be some lost tunes worthy of an Indiana Jones-style search for them...

Limited editions? Why not? Why do limited? What’s the suppose? Why asking? The questions can be many. Why instead change the view of the media instead of the concept?Who is blaming Andy Warhol for his limited supplies? No one, it’s rather a problem with all the copies around the globe now days.People never likes when ‘things’ is new and unknown and works in a different way. This happend with the early video installations. When it came to us it was also a ‘new’ type of media to express with. But now days is it totally accepted. But this is what is happening right now in the music-biz and the vinyl industry. How they see on what’s going on with the vinyl media makes them uncomfortable. The ‘new’ kind of art media is kind of doing the opposite of what they have done forever – limited small supplies. People won’t maybe accept the vinyl media as art media today, but hopefully tomorrow. Today want people still to see the vinyl media as a commercial consumption objects that can be bought and replaced and repressed like it have ever been. Junk Yard Connections don’t believe in that. For Junk Yard Connections should the EP, LP or whatever become more of a piece time capsule or just be seen, and listen as a piece of art. So next time you whine about some repress, go to your national museum and go to the information desk and tell the staff (you can of course mail the CEO for the museum as well, if it fits you better) and tell them to do some replicas of the Johannes Vermeer you just saw. I guess the answer will be a – No. Why not make a replica by you yourself? But that’s another interesting story!

You need to get up on your contempoary art my fellow. There is a lot of work concerning the idea of origonality. It's one of the biggest questions fueling postmodernism actually. Authenticity, origionality, aourthorship...even the self is up for questioning. Duchamp declaired a brown paper bag as a ready made art work, there are thousands, millions of brown paper bags. Does this mean that the only one that is an art work is the one he claimed as such or are they all works of art now ? Is the poster which is for sale in the muesium shop worthy of the title 'art' ? Or does it have to be limited edition ? All good and interesting questions, but don't start supposing you have the answers ! that's when it all goes wrong

Zabelesk, check your facts before you go on a rant mate... The reason why Dusty Ballroms and Swirly Tempel is still hitting the shelves is because the distributor, clone, had copies left and that various online record stores just put in an order of, let's say 50-75 (even less than that) copies to start with and maybe realised that they needed more after they had sold them, you can also add the fact that there were 450 copies of those two releases and not 300 as with Back Yard Impressions. Junk Yard Connections have NEVER done and will NEVER do represses.I see your point in the Johannes Vermeer comparison, sure it's not a one-off but there is a limit to how many original copies there are out there and that fact won't change, same as with a Johannes Vermeer. Someone might bootleg it some day in the future but that won't be an original pressing of the record, just a copy. It's not about seeing the record skyrocket in price, various stores had JYC003 for a whole year before it was sold out but if you have some interest in this type of music you would know how to dig for it. I understand that the general party-public got introduced to this at Panorama Bar for example and that's when the price went sky-high but that is not the reason this record was made.Good day to you good sir!

The master lacquer is equal with the Vermeeer for sure, it's just another type of media. The 302 copies (2 testpresses) that exist could be seen as copper-prints or whatever. It just exist 302 copies, thats it, originals or copies, call it what ever you want. Why Dusty Ballrooms and Swirly Tempel is still in some stores depends because the supply was 450 copies instead of 300.You missed a point. Junk Yard Connections is not MLIU (no offense to the french guys, I love their label).MLIU is MLIU, not Junk Yard Connections and JYC is not MLIU.Yeah sure, people might use JYC-003 as a tool to get people dance in clubs but It's still your own decision what and how you use your exemplar of JYC-003.Have a nice day,Cheers

Very nice statement - but there is one small mistake you got in your conclusion which is affecting your comparison:The Johannes Vermeer is one original, you can only copy it. So the one buying the original one, got a original Johannes Vermeer. What you forget is: If you pay 100 to 120 Euros for a record believing there is no repress, so you are getting a real piece of art, its shutting down your believe in the rarity and the art , if e.g. a few weeks after a repress is hitting shops worldwide - and the value you were trusting in when you bought the record is nothing worth anymore. JYC has a strictly no-repress policy? Why is dusty ballrooms and swirly temple still hitting shops again and again? In order to this i cant believe that there wont never be a repress of Junkyard Connections again - the label lost kind of credibility (you can compare this to MLIU). So nice comparison but based on wrong conclusion.Second what you mustnt forget: the product of a vinyl is something that will probably be USED - especially concerning house/techno dj's you cant deny, that its not worth it to pay 100 euros for a record that could be useless concerning the quality in 1 or 2 years. Sure this is the risk everybody has, and nobody is forced to buy the record, but people having the the Junkyard Impressions at home and are dj'ing are totally nuts if they dont play king hassan on huge soundsystems.cheers
