Tom Petty is among the Veterans of the American rock. In his long career that began in the late 1970s he has been highs and lows known-both artistic and business-but always is he remained a relevant and constant musical factor. And although the 1990s may not have been his most productive, high-quality plates were as Wildflowers and Echo. Clear audible was that for Petty the years went count: that translated into more ballads and slower tempos. The Last DJ can as a logical continuation of Echo (1999). It is a typical Petty-plate with tasty rock songs (The Last DJ, When A Kid Goes Bad) and yet also striking many quiet songs (Money Becomes King, Dreamville, Blue Sunday). Unfortunately, on this album still a single Miss which The Man Who Loves Women absolutely the largest. What remains is a great Tom Petty album, that mainly is carried by petty's songwriters talent and one of the best back-up bands in the world: The Heartbreakers. Nothing new under the Sun, have a delicious plate.
