A perfect door intp LPD, and a fantastic representation of their second phase. Highly recommended.

One of my favorites in the LPD 80's catalogue. This 2012 remaster doesn't work for me though. To me, it does not have the same impact compared to the original version. Check out both to see which one you prefer.

The 2012 remaster was reworked in 2016. (It was one of their first, I think they realized it was too loud.) Try re-downloading it, at the moment you even get it in 24-bit.

"The Sun is just a brat that spits..." - THE MORE IT CHANGESThe enigma that is Legendary Pink Dots (and that is stated mildly) could be summed up only slightly with this otherworldly piece of work. "The Golden Age" speaks volumes about the growth of Edward Ka-spel's ideas and psychedelic dogma. It was this album and "Any Day Now' that might to this day stand above the rest of the ridiculously humongous anthology of albums. It was 1991 and I was 19 when a friend played "The Talent Contest" for me. We were drinking 40's at a secluded dark part of a dirt road and the sonic deluge melting my ears set me in awe. My world bent quite a bit from that moment on. The flow of this work is perfect and the stories are like candy to unfettered children. A perfect gem that gets revisited many times again and again. "The more it changes, the more it stays the same..."
