These punk rock savants have taken a more chilled out route. And what a treat it really is to hear the slow weeping guitar shed its light upon the waters of our life. Each song feels like a train running through your heart - only to come back out the other end of beauty and wash you completely ashore. Revival. Renewal. Once the wreckage has cleared, your fertile mind will be the most grateful space to ponder and nothing can really obstruct this feeling other than pressing the stop button. This album is wrought with pleasured dreams and the vast desolation of landscapes. Music that frames crystal visions and holds them captive for mere moments. And with the shifting of each tide the glory of another appears out of sweet, distant fog. Acoustic drones looming from the speakers like a gentle rain – soft, soothing chants surging with simplicity supports in easing the soul. There is an overwhelming sense of decay and degradation – reminiscent of post-apocalyptic times. But underneath it all, fresh, green shoots appear out of ash, reaching for the clouded sun. Proof that beauty will exist in any multi-dimensional version of hell, figurative or literal. Stimulating music like this can be well enjoyed any time one desires the relax and reflect state-of-mind. A perfect sentiment to benefit from any relief -- in solitude or in close company. I am aware better material exists from this ensemble but I really am quite content with the sounds spraying off this record. I am already amazed, and to think this kind of music can be bettered.. well, I can only dream.
