Celebration a live compilation of The Doors music from 1967-1968 period by Swinging Pig today seems quite familiar and accessible but it was a major breakthrough for Door fans in 1989, as one of the first bootleg CD'sto focus on the Doors live music. Only 3 official LP's had been released by Elektra Records between 1970 and 1987; The Doors Absolutely Live (1970) alive She Cried (1983) and Live in Hollywood (1987) with the exception of one live track on An American Prayer LP (1978). There was a huge resurgence for more Doors music, studio and live but none accessible except for 3 official Doors video that came out in the mid 1980s. Celebration draws from these official Doors live video performances take from tv shows at the time of their recording and mixes them with unreleased live tv performances. In the end Celebration is a great time capsule of early bootleg CD faze that dominated the underground record industry and would soon prompt the official record industry to take action with In Concert (1991) and later Official Bootleg releases on Bright Midnight record label / Rhino Records etc..
