It sounds like a lot of work to me and I've yet to see an enthusiastic review.I understand sometimes with new musical sounds you have to give it a chance and listen to it a few times; then you 'get it', it can become your favourite. That has happened a few times with DM remixes. But then there is also the alternative to 'challenging music': bad music . . .

WHAT WAS IT? Total waste of time and money! :/ Not the best press at all - too scratchy. Sounds like a heavy used record. Maybe it's just my copy sucks though...

I hate harshly critiquing music because I respect the art but I have to agree with the others that say these remixes are an extreme let down. They seem really lazily done. This is Depeche Mode, I would expect much more from these electronic rock giants. These tracks are kind of a bore they don't try to capture the emotive depth of the actual music and sound dry. I'll give it another listen or so but wouldn't dish out the dough for this biscuit

I don't disagree with you here, but when was the last time DM had any good remixes done anyway? They always bring in Ewan Pearson who does a by-the-numbers tech house mix, then a handful of others who do pretty standard remixes -- it's a formula to them now rather than an artistic experiment. Gone are the days where DM set the standard for remixes, they're a brand by this point. To be fair, the Patrice Bäumel Remix is pretty good, though.

Ok, so having played this 12" for the past couple of days it's starting to grow on me. Whilst the A side is a bit of a let down, it gets stronger as you work your way through the mixes. its worth buying just for sides B/C/D in my opinion.

I'd like to help maintain the resale value of my copy of this by giving it a decent write up but it's pretty much just a bunch of generic dance beats with the odd vocal sample on top. As others have suggested, the Algiers Click Farm Remix is the worst of the lot. The Pearson Sound Beatless Remix has a decent chilled electronic vibe to it but but bears no relation to the original track.Also, it doesn't come with a download code card (or at least mine didn't).

Whereas the Algiers mix on the CD is my favourite mix of all the versions. These vinyl mixes are very disappointing.

Where's the creation? What's happening with DM remixes?? The 2 bests versions on this double 12" are on The D-side, a progressive, danceable, melodic and delicate version by Patrice Baümel and a dub mix by Ewan Pearson: much more interesting than his sloppy regular non-stop CD mix, seems like a revised version. A2 Pearson Sound Mix is fun and can be played either at 33 or 45 Rpm. The other remixes will be soon forgotten, they are all dissonance, saturation and lack of work, like 90% of the remixes done since 2009, a wiser choice of remixers needs to be done...there's big great mixes to be built with DM sounds ! Come on DM !! The remix revolution !!!
