Sadly despite what the label states BOTH sides of this retro USA Polygram - Mercury 45 are presented in Mercury's UN-Living Presence MONO so avoid same with the later "wonderful" Label feature BAR CODE pressings that Polygram seem to feel are such a vital and important part of the aesthetics of their labels. Can you imagine a BAR CODE on the Mona Lisa on her nose, or on Nipper's Gramophone Horn, on the mouth of the scream. No exactly then why Warners/WEA FIRST offenders, then POLYGRAM, then SONY MUSIC put them on their visual artwork. Atleast in their slight favour IEP's never had a bar code embossed and panted over!We need to find the person over at Burbank that started this stupid and vile trend someone must know who he or she was either in the legal team or such name them then dispatch them on the Death Chamber Gurney the charge: permitting grafitti to destroy works of art.

Dispite what the two label state both tracks have been mastered and cut here in their 100% Mono mixes. The Stroll was mixed and mastered as an early late 1950's Stereo recording as Mercury were very keen and into the format including various pioneering and legendary stereo recordings. It would be nice to think that at the cutting stage the wrong tapes were pulled and sadly no-one checked the sonics, rather than this be a very deliberate and foolish duping with this retro release.
