Premiesku ride a fine line between monotony and hypnosis... fortunately it all leads to a rousing and absorbing result. I think they owe their distinct sound to a rich ancestry based in Romania... not very insightful of me perhaps, but how else to explain their alchemy? Some of the tracks fall short of their promise, but the ones that work (E Codat, Geneza) really take off. At any rate this is a release of some depth and originality.
