Could be a rare occurrence, but my pressing has oil smudges and is generally pretty gross sounding.

My pressing sounds horrible as well. Full of clicks, pops and even a skip here or there. Overall noisy pressing. I ended up having to buy the CD version out of frustration which is a real shame because it's one of my favorite albums.

It inspires me this quite fitting saying : « if you don’t arouse your curiosity, you’ll encounter boredom » ! The fact that it is impossible to find a lead on who this man is, is a pleonasm. His latest album is nowhere to be found in France, which says a lot on our society where mass media is too busy praising disposable talents; forgetting to turn long-lasting talents into stars. But in this over-productive capitalist world, does a man need to sell (his soul?) at any price ? Here, no marketing strategy… Isakov, decided to tell us about everyday life and its ordinary moments. To this end, he just has a warm voice and a writing ability enabling him to express his vision of daily life. This is what makes him an authentic and non self-proclaimed artist. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa; he immigrated to Philadelphia at a very young age, and now lives in Colorado. Like a lot of songwriters like him, Isakov finds inspiration in his travels and offers us his fifth album already ! An album which, like the small golden nugget lost into a flow of big empty rocks, rolls through the gloom sellers’ sieve and continues on its way to indie rock. For a golden nugget The Weatherman sure is a shiny one. Guitar, banjo, violin, organ and colorful drums are all redolent of the soil, O City Lights and The Universe have this quality inherent to music, transcendence. This storyteller has intonations that remind me of Chris Martin, when Coldplay was not playing dance music…with Living Proof and Honey it’s alright for instance. If you too, have enjoyed Vincent Mcmorrow and Lord Huron’s arrangements on their respective compositions, you’ll be on familiar territory with Second Chances… A kindred of beautiful music, soft as a cloud. Particular attention should be drawn to the recording quality of these thirteen tracks. A well-rounded album, from Amsterdam to She always takes it black, that will clear your head, it is a soulful evasion from the boredom of the contrived media. It’s everything we need ! - More at lesveillesmusicales.com
