Flash_back
Definitely not your run of the mill EBM band. Sure, they've got songs you can dance to, like on here "Drugstore", "Dancing King" or "Hammerguy". But to me, they seem to sort of thumb their nose at the whole stereotype of EBM. Maybe? Maybe not. But with lyrics like "...take your body records and toss 'em in the trash...move your ass, move your stupid head, sooner or later we all be dead!" it makes you wonder. That's okay, these guys' music is much more atmospheric and meaningful than their other Energy Records bandmates. The singer doesn't even try to sing, he grunts, moans, mutters and screams through it all. But its quite obvious he's usng the music as his canvas to paint his feelings. The music speaks for itself and you can quickly overlook his rough vocal approach. At least I can. Maybe I'm totally misinterpreting their methods or intentions. Doesn't matter; this cd has a welcome place in my collection. I've taken many walks in the middle of nowhere with it playing on my headphones. I've also read to it countless time before going to sleep. By the time the last songs winds down I feel I've been taken on a meaningful journey each time. Why? For some reason I can simply space out to this album, and I enjoy doing it. It's the kind of music to simply lose yourself in or stare at the horizon, alone with your thoughts. I find it impossible not to be carried away, lost in thought, during songs like "India Rubber", "Face Of Paradise" and the monster 12 minute "In Between". This is one cd I will forever be glad I came upon. I let you all judge it for yourselves, but its worked its charm on me.
