Side A is so much louder than Side b it's unbelievable.

Mr.Savik
Dj Vertigo use to fade the pinned up mix into Congress 40 Miles [both the vocal and instrumental version] it works wonders, just check it out on his Trades Club Leeds 91 mix

Hey I see many different versions of "Take Me Away". I see Final Cut with True Faith and now Bridget Grace's version. Are these mixes the same between the two or different?

There are two versions of this Paragon release, both almost identical, both with the same track listing- the other version is titled 'Final Cut W/ True Faith Featuring Bridgett Grace', and can be found here: http://www.discogs.com/Final-Cut-W-True-Faith-Featuring-Bridgett-Grace-Take-Me-Away/release/1245171

A superb collection of remixes of this stone cold classic - even the acapella. More or less a must-have for house fans.

Redfury
The ultimate original version that contains the bass line and acapella as sampled in the Pin Up Girls Bootleg.

The is the original 1989 Detroit 12" release of 'Take Me Away'. Forget the other popular cheesy UK bootleg versions (you know the ones!), this is the only one you need in your collection.

Got to agree! Yes this is a really good 12" to own, most of the mixes awesome BUT do not forget about the Pin-Up Remixes, or indeed most of the mixes Network put out, FOR ME they took it to another level, amazing.

Being a big fan of both Chicago house and Detroit techno, I just personally prefer the original Paragon import Detroit Techno and House mixes over the UK bootleg mixes. The versions they played at all the big raves were, like you said, very, very popular. I'm not disputing that.

'Cheesey bootlegs?' you don't sound like you were - there those other versions are part of Rave History.

Right back at the start of the 1990's Carl Cox was playing this along with all the other big name Dj's. The Pin Up mix was played the most with its piano riff which was sampled many times (with my favourite being Right Before by 1st Project on Fokus Recordings). The vocal from this track was available on every acappella vinyl around and was also sampled lots by later tracks Originally released as the Pin Up Girls and later signed to Network this is an old skool anthem that should be in everyone's collection.

This release is worth listening to for the 'A' side alone, different from any other version made, as it is basically a mash-up of Bridget Grace's accapella and Rhythim Is Rhythim's, Beyond The Dance (Cult Mix), an interesting concept & imo 100% better for that fact alone, than the original of Take Me away (on Paragon Records) or any other subsequent remixes, re-issues, re-hashes or cheesy northern house cover versions. B1 sounds like the mainstream/clubbier/late 80's end of American House...jumpy, funky, vocal, & breezy. Whereas B2 is practically the original mix cut very short.
