This is Kid 'N Play's first record. They wrote the lyrics, and originally they were going to rap on the record, but they felt it would be better to feature female rappers since it's an answer to Kurtis Blow's record "If I Ruled The World" about Girls ruling the world. The female rappers are "Royal Silk". Kid 'N Play were going to do the same thing on their next record "Rock Me", which is an answer to Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus". Kid 'N Play made a demo but didn't rap on the record themselves, instead they had Raven T from the Dismaster Crew do the rapping. Again, they thought better of it, and decided to rap on the record themselves. They changed the name of the crew to "Fresh Force" and the rapping careers for Kid 'N Play were born, but it really started with this record. I know all of this because Kid 'N Play said all this themselves during an interview in the summer of 1987 when they dropped "Last Night". Also, I still have the demo for "Rock Me" on tape where Raven T is rapping.
