Without a doubt the worst PSB record I have. I remember playing this at a party where people generally loved synth-pop & hinrg and they really hated this record. Personally it isn't too bad but you have to be a real fan of PSB to like it.

I disagree with the trash-down reviews. The original is a cheesy Rock Pop with a typical '80s Industrial side that part was mixed with more Synths. It still is cheesy but it sounds 1984 and I enjoy the sunglass part in the mix where they could have done without West-End. 3 stars for aA side and one extra because of the B side.

No idea what someone was thinking mixing these two songs. It's bad, very bad. One of the weaker releases associated with PSB, even when considered among their early stuff.

This is a pretty horrible release which sounds awfully rushed together. I like the original Sunglasses at Night by Corey Hart but this cover is one of many proofs that you didn't have to know how to sing to release a record in those days. There are lots of clashes between the two tracks here & sometimes it gets so disharmonic at places I wonder how it even could be considered to be released. So, why the heck did I even buy this record? The answer is to be found if you flip the record over. Here you find a pumping Hi-NRG kind of rework of one of my favourite early PSB-songs One More Chance. Naturally it all sounds very dated but I still like the cheesy overall feeling of the B-side even if it doesn't make up for the bad A-side.

Haha, I spent £20 on my original 1984 pressing in 1988 at a record fair having only seen a picture of it in a magazine and nearly wet myself when I saw it for real, unbeknown it was about to be repressed and flogged for £5 in HMV the very same year. Doh! I actually really like this track though. Esp. as they were wise enough to only use the main synth riff and about a quarter of the original lyrics cos I unlike Zyron I can't stand the original Corey Hart version. The OMC dub is awesome though, fully agree there.

You replied to the wrong comment. The one about a German accent is below.

I don't notice a German accent...I think it's actually Chris Lowe. All of his other appearances he's talk-singing rather than actually singing (except for "Lies", an obscure b-side for one version of the New York City Boys single, and on that it could be Neil Tennant with the vocals pitched down a bit).

"West End - Sunglasses" is an odd mash-up, 1984-style. ZYX combined "West End Girls" with an anonymous cover of Corey Hart's "Sunglasses at Night". One would assume this version of "Sunglasses" was performed specifically for this medley. The singer has a German accent, but no other details are available. The sleeve, with the drawn-on sunglasses, is priceless...
