I wish this had been pressed at RTI like all of DBT's records that were released on the New West label. My copy of this album is fine, although it does have scuff marks from being placed in a printed card insert. I miss the RTI touch and Kevin Grey's mastering, but I've encountered records worse than this one. Great album!

Who Mastered it? Where was it Pressed? Do people even care about sound quality anymore? Or only if the color is "pretty" or not?

This is happening with the Barnes and Noble release also ,says red but damn near black .I ordered a red from the dbt site just in case . Is an excellent album

Some people received a black version even though the hype sticker indicated a red pressing. According to a source at ATO records, 5000 in red vinyl and 2000 in black vinyl were pressed. A number of the black versions were stickered erroneously as red vinyl. To correct the problem they would have had to open all of them back up. They decided to let them go as is. Those that purchased the album through the official pre-sale channel expecting red but receiving black should contact the DBT store ASAP before all the red are gone, which will be anytime now.

No. The first 5000 copies were pressed in red.

Mine is a really deep, dark, almost purplish red. Anyone else's come out looking like that?

Yep, mine is a very dark red, kinda purple/brownish. Looks good though!

Yes, a dark purple with a few red streaks. The single has a nice Wes Freed cover. I'm not that disappointed - Their best album in years!

If it hadn't been billed as red, I'd say my copy was purple. It's almost a solid purplish red with a handful of dark purple or black streaks.

I have one that is black vinyl, black hype sticker, yet has a red bar code. I plan on keeping it. Any insight on creating a new release page? I was just going to add it to the black release anyway.

Mine is all black. When I contacted ATO I was told 5000 are red, 2000 are black and some of the black were erroneously hype-stickered as red. There was nothing they could do short of opening all of them so they sent them out with that error. I expect my black to be replaced. Hopefully I can keep the black as it is rare in comparison the the red by more than 2 to 1.

Mine is really dark maroon red with lighter sunburst patterns in it.

Mine is the same. A very dark red or more like maroon or cordovan. I like it. It's not the same red I have a dozen of already.
