I'm curious if anyone knows how many copies of this were pressed? I can't find any indication anywhere online of how many there are.

Incredible album! Good riffs! Very aggressive, makes you want to smash places! The attitude is also great! I also tend to like albums that are somehow controversial on whether people like them or not. I think it's a sign of the band doing what they like instead of pleasing the fans. I think the great attitude stems from that!

Tim "Ripper" Owens had huge shoes to fill on his first release with Priest, irreplacable ones many would argue. The band flew him in to audition after viewing a poor quality recording of his Judas Priest tribute band in action, and after literally 1 and a quarter songs he was in, beating off candidates such as Ralf Scheepers, Sebastian Bach and, believe it or not, Devin Townsend. And it shows. No one can deny his vocal prowess, which at its height is simply stunning. However this was not enough to guarantee a great album; with vocalist, lyricist and frontman of 19 years Rob Halford gone and the newcomer yet to fully integrate it was down to guitarists Tipton and Downing to write all of the material. Unfortunately it shows as well. Their past songwriting was widely renowned and (more often than not) incredibly inspired, but with Halford gone and an unprecedented gap in their recording schedule they seemed to lose a good chunk of their creativity; and this is where "Jugulator" ultimately falls short. There are some blinding tracks to be found heightened by harsh riffage and great production (notably 1, 2, 9 & 10), and while a step-down for both, the straight up brutality of the guitar solos compliment the structures very nicely. But average to totally uninspired lyrics and droning filler seriously hamper what is otherwise a decent effort.

Strongly disagree. The writing for this album is just as silly and solid as Painkiller. The only real weakness is the thin production. Great album.
