Essentialy a progressive folk-rock record, it is a true Iraqui musical anomaly. Though there were plenty of Iraqui groups that played rock and roll in the 1960s and 1970s, most of them played cover songs and seldom, if ever, pressed records. Hassan's is one of the only know Iraqui records of its time to feature folk-rock in this manner. He was part of the Iraqui Socialist movement - just a few years before Saddam Hussein came to power. Hassan's music is from another era, and differs greatly from rest of the styles featured on Choubi Choubi vol. 1, but is certainly no less enjoyable.
