The main hook of Tranceformed II version and parts of the harder Revolutionized version are sampled from Bassomatic's "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Bass (Va Va Voom Mix)"...In my opinion the idea to use this sample had big potential but the composer(s) have only looped it.If you know the deep and strong power of the original Bassomatic track and how this main hook is developing there, those Alien Nation tracks here are a bit weak...If I would have used this sample I would have combined it at least with deep going strings or I would have also sampled the modulation of the sequence which makes it more alive. The sound of the sample is interesting but the result here is not satisfying...At least if you did know the Bassomatic track before and you have discovered the Alien Nation tracks later.Beside this I find this release an interesting part of the MFS catalog because you can find a lot versions of the track on maxi-cd format plus a great - for me the best track here - and rare Necromantic Theme track. Its only a short piece of ambient music (about 3 minutes) but the melody has something! The reviewer FleshMaster69 who wrote about the main 12" release mentioned this cd and where this last track comes from.
