From the back cover:

This album is an unedited recording of a conference to plan a series of upcoming recording sessions. It is late August, 1955, in Hollywood and we are listening to Billie with the gentleman who will be responsible for her arrangements - Pianist Jimmy Rowles. Also on hand is bassist Artie Shapiro and with Billie they sat in a group around the piano and ran down song after song with Rowles making notes on Billie's keys, the tempi and general feel or style. Some of these songs are chosen, others eliminated. Afterwards, Jimmy will pick the musicians for the recording session and make sketches on each tune for the musicians.
