Molotok
Although this is the 'butchered' recording of "Rio Grande Mud", this album still must be one of their best. In my opinion, there really is not one filler song in the entire album. Here are my song reviews: "Francine"--Five stars--Sets off the album on a good pace; great opener. "Just Got Paid"--Five stars--Classic bluesy ZZ Top anthem; raw, gritty goodness. "Mushmouth Shoutin'"--Five stars--Great blues song; blues harp is the best part of the song. "Ko Ko Blue"--Five stars--Nice fast paced song; rounds off slower songs in the album. "Chevrolet"--Five stars--Well paced and nice riff; great road song "Apologies To Pearly--Six stars--Best song on the whole album; Billy's guitar playing is phenominal; one of their best songs period. "Bar-B-Q"--Five stars--Another gritty bluesy song; great fast pace. "Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell"--Five stars--Brilliant slow blues to keep the real pace of the album in check. "Whiskey'n Mama"--Four stars--Okay song; yet, not phenominal. "Down Brownie"--Five stars--Nice coarse riff; good toe-tappin' rhythm. Again, this is one of their best albums of all time Overall Rate--five stars--good job to the guys!
