As the days become shorter, there is almost always a new Jimi Hendrix-Edition in the shelves. The brilliant guitarist made only three studio albums until his death in 1970, but still know record companies since then time and time again with ' new ' work. New in quotes because often it is old wine in new bottles. After all, there are many rock enthusiasts who with Sinterklaas and Christmas again make a wish list. And music of Hendrix is always good. Machine Gun contains a concert that gave the guitarist with his Band of Gypsys in The Fillmore East on new year's Eve in 1969. A day later, Hendrix again in the same room. The recording of that concert were all issued in 1970. More than 45 years later, it is the turn of the previous action. Hendrix himself was not entirely satisfied with the cooperation with Billy Cox (bass) and Buddy Miles (drums). He was contractually obligated to with new recordings, and these live sessions. Yet we hear him in blood form on these tracks.
