Simple
The copy I have here is a areat pressing, no background noise. Well done Knitting factory another great Fela Kuti Reissue.

Enditaling
Dreadful quality on mine. Noisy pressing from the off. Murky looking vinyl too.

Luckily I read your comment before playing the record so I was prepared for the worst. I was happily surprised. My copy certainly isn't dead quiet, but the minor surface noise does not detract from the music's impact. Based on my copy, I'd say any Fela fan will kick themselves, then kick themselves again if they don't buy this. Mine was $10, how can you lose? I'm happy as hell to finally have "I Go Shout Plenty" on vinyl. The b-side does seem like a random choice, an instrumental version of "My Lady Frustration" that was the b-side to the 1983 issue of "Perambulator," but absolutely welcome in my collection. But where is the "Perambulator" reissue the world needs?Lastly, the sticker on the sleeve says "this limited edition pressing is a demonstration of how Fela used a mix of jazz and highlife to create the early beginnings of what was soon to become his trademark afrobeat." But "I Go Shout Plenty!!!" was made in 1977 (though not released until 1986), and both tracks represent afrobeat in full flower.

MisterQweene
Same here. Really noisy pressing for me. So disappointing as the tracks are excellent.

Zehaffy
Yep, mine is noisy too. Tried cleaning it, but it hasn't helped.

Fohuginn
Same. Looks to have weird dime sized imperfections to it. A bit noisy as well... bummer.

Realistic
Left it at the store and glad I did. Don't get the B-side choice as well (even if Frustration is one of my favorite Fela tracks) - might as well do a re-issue of the 1986 LP.
