"Rock The Place" is one of the finest examples of deep house inspired 1992 'ardkore. The sweeping strings and the E2-E4 style riff just melts you into an e pile of love and happiness. For me its the best track on the whole EP and one of the best tracks from 1992 which is a tall order let me tell you! "1, 2, 3" is a real Ron Wells inspired track that pretty much sounds like every DJ Seduction and Rhythm Section record from that time period. I like it a lot but its more of a bridge track. "At The Controls" is a tune that plays around with the riff from Maurice "This is Acid" and through out the track, it plays different melodies that this riff is famous for including "This is Acid" and "Day in a Life". The rest of the tracks weren't as memorable for me but that's not to say they're no good. They are good. Its just that "Rock the place" is a very tough act to follow. For example, if Rhythm Section's "Dream World" was on this EP, it wouldn't be as good as "Rock the Place". I like this EP so much I'd say it would benefit from a repress where each track is on its very own side and each side would play at 45 rpm. Maybe Mark would see fit to do this in the future if there's enough demand. I would certainly contribute to a kick starter of such a project.

It's almost an unusual to find a such an excellent 8-tracker these days.This one is definitely one of those rare piece of vinyls.All tracks are following the same basic rules "How To Make a Track For The Dancefloor".Starting from "At The Controls" is an example,how to make it very simple,but effective.Following number "The Dub" is a good example how to mix up with 2 genres.Reggae vocals/stabs and very effective bassline salted with rolling breaks and uplifting bleeps.Who needs more? Third track "1-2-3" starts off with Public Enemy's Flavor Flav-vocals and furious breaks.Some tracks are reminding me of Neil Rumney's work.Lots of hectic,furious stabs and breaks following in every second.Massive 12" all in all!Grab this gem if you find.Not to be disappointed!
