Real Ibiza - Volume Two. The journey continues. Just like the first volume, same guys compile this one. A Man Called Adam, Bruno Lepretre, Chris Coco - guys who have seen it all on Ibiza. And boy did they dug deep. Some tracks are more obvious and popular (not commercial) like Les Nuites, Spellbound, Prá Manhã, Las Cazuelas... But bear in mind, Volume Two got out in June of 1999 and most of those song weren't released on full length albums (Da Lata - Songs From The Tin, Rollercone ‎- Rollercone...). If you like this compilation check out all of those albums. What can I say about the music here? CD 1 opens with beautiful and dreamy Les Nuites continues with Daydreaming (still one of my favorite tracks) then slowly but surely tempo rises with the climax on Sunpower and New World and then smoothly ends with Smooth Temptation and Blonde. CD 2 is not that strong as the first one. It's not bad but it's less interesting. Standout tracks for me are Red Desert (Yellow Magnetic Star Remix), short but sweet Jah Jah Is Coming, Jakarta (one of the best. it blew my mind when I first heard this song), Clear Skies (Ibizarre Remix)... Real Ibiza series stand strong next to the first few Café del Mar volumes and it has a real late nineties feeling. There is nothing cheesy or boring here. Very well balanced music and definitely not repetitive like many other. Just look at the people behind this project and ask yourself how can it be bad? If you like this kind of music, or music in general, don't miss this series of compilations. I was too young when this was new but it's never too late for good music. My discoveries were Shahin & Sepehr and Lenny Ibizarre among some others and I'm so glad for that. There is also a mixed CD which I'll review later. First five volumes consists of two unmixed CDs, one mixed CD and 2 or 3 LPs. Too bad React didn't press more copies or maybe did repress later on. Get it in any format and listen on fine hi-fi system if possible, you won't be sorry. Treat yourself and enjoy.
