You take a chance, sometimes it doesn't pay off. Here we have the late sixties vocal group, The Friends of Distinction - an obvious attempt to capitalize on the success of Brazil 66 and the Fifth Dimension. Good idea, lackluster results, at least with this, their debut. Poor song selection coupled with strange arrangements/interpretations. And the female vocals, while trying to sound hip and groovy, come off more matronly and choir-like. 2 stars, Pass.

My favorite song on this album is This Generation! I love this song! I wish I knew all the words to this song! But this is what I'm able to come up with!THIS GENERATION:Inspiration flows from river to river,And it grows, by leaps and bounds,Til we've grown so great in number,Our power is grown! This generation, shall be remembered, my friends, as the ones that did their best.We are the sand, the world is the waves(?)And then, they always expand us,We depend(?) on others when it comes to getting things done. This generation is gonna be remembered, my friend, as the ones that did their best.(Chorus)This generation! This generation! (We got a new inspiration). We're pressing forward to a brand new world!Let there be the demand to convene! This generation is gonna be remembered, my friend, as the ones that did their best!(Repeat chorus)
